Terms of use
Last updated 30 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Personal CFO ("we") for your use of Personal CFO. You accept them by ticking the box when you create an account; we keep a record of the date and the version you accepted.
1. What the service is — and isn't
Personal CFO organizes financial information that you provide and performs calculations on it, such as totals, forecasts, schedules and scenarios. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal or credit advice, and nothing in the service is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any product. Forecasts and scenarios are estimates based on your inputs and assumptions, and real outcomes will differ. Make important decisions with a licensed professional.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give a valid email address.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- Only upload information you have the right to use, such as your own statements.
3. Accuracy
Transactions are read from your files automatically, and automatic reading can make mistakes. We show a totals check and let you review everything before importing, but you're responsible for checking the figures you rely on.
4. Free trial, plans and payment
- New accounts get a 14-day free trial. No card is needed to start it.
- Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay, and we'll tell you at least 30 days before any price change applies to you.
- You can cancel any time from the Billing page. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Payments already made aren't refunded, except where the law requires it.
- Without an active trial or plan your account becomes read-only. Your data isn't deleted.
5. Acceptable use
- Use the service only for your own (or your household's) finances, and only with information you're entitled to use.
- Don't try to access other people's data, get around security or usage limits, overload the service, or copy or resell it.
- Don't upload anything unlawful or malicious.
- AI features have generous daily limits to keep the service fast and affordable for everyone.
6. Third-party services
Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms. If you connect a bank through an open-banking provider, that connection is governed by the provider's terms and the consent you give your bank, and you can withdraw it at any time. We aren't responsible for outages or errors in services we don't control.
7. Our content
The app, its design and its software belong to us. Your data belongs to you; you give us permission to process it only to run the service for you.
8. Emails
We'll email you about your account, security and billing. Any product news is optional and you can unsubscribe at any time.
9. Your data
Your data stays yours. We use it only to provide the service, as described in the Privacy policy. You can download it, delete it or close your account at any time from Settings.
10. Availability and liability
We work to keep the service available and accurate, but it's provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses or for decisions made using the service, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, after notice where reasonable.
12. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will tell you about material changes before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Questions: support@getpersonalcfo.com.
